Passenger numbers along this route vary considerably depending on the route section; they are very high between Machtens and Gare de l’Ouest, and very low between Gare de l’Ouest and De Brouckère station, each section responding to very different sets of demands.

New route

The new number 86 service will operate a new route between Duchesse de Brabant and Bockstael, taking the route of the current number 89 bus, the site of Tour & Taxis and Avenue du Port. The section between Place Duchesse de Brabant and the city centre will now be covered by the number 89 bus.

  • New direct connections between the various districts of Molenbeek (Machtens, Gare de l’Ouest, Comte de Flandre, Ribaucourt and Tour & Taxis);
  • Several possible connections with the metro network (Gare de l’Ouest, Comte de Flandre, Etangs Noirs, Ribaucourt and Bockstael).
