Passenger numbers along this route vary considerably depending on the route section; they are very high between Westland Shopping centre and Delacroix, and lower between Delacroix and Bockstael. The very busy section between Westland Shopping and Delacroix fully justifies the use of high-capacity buses.

New route

The new number 89 service will operate a new route between Place Duchesse de Brabant and Gare Centrale [Central Station], taking the route of the current number 86 bus.

  • New direct connection between the north of Anderlecht and the city centre;
  • Ultimately, a higher capacity (articulated) bus fleet will be rolled out on this route to provide more seating and improved comfort.
