In line with the pedestrianisation of the city centre, Brussels intends to run a new bus service within the historic city centre. This service is intended to connect the uptown and downtown areas, serving the main shopping areas and tourist hotspots.
This new "citybus" service will run on electric-powered minibuses which will charge up overnight. It will reconnect the Dansaert and Louise districts, running via the pedestrianised area.
This service will be operational when the requisite electrical minibuses are delivered; (currently scheduled for june 2018).
